My journey into bento lunch boxes

This one was made partially of leftovers. The braised mushrooms and vegetables have been featured in a previous bento lunch and so is the roast chicken. However, this time, I decided to shred the chicken pieces up and mix in some Japanese salad dressing which added a tangy salty twist to the chicken which was quite delicious!
For main meal, I boiled up some noodles and mixed in the sauce from the braised mushrooms. It was slightly plain but went well with the food that was slightly salty. I added some green lettuce and tomatoes for colour and fibre and packed it all in my new Lock n Lock box!
I’m so pleased with my new box. Its rather small but now, it fills up nicely and doesn’t look so empty and the portion size is enough for me which is what matters.
Does anyone know how to prevent boiled noodles from getting sticky? By lunch, the noodles were cold and stuck together.

1) Use lots of water to ensure even cooking and prevent clumping.
2)Add pasta to water just BEFORE it boils. The heat of boiling water “sets” the outside of the pasta, to prevent sticking.
3) must stir in first 1-2 mins of cooking. Cook UNCOVERED at fast boil
3) Don’t rinse cooked pasta unless recipe says so.
hope this helps

Hi mysimplefood: Sorry for the late reply. I’m presently using a Rubbermaid Takealong container and a Lock and Lock which are both microwaveable. I don’t have a microwave at work however, which is a pity. Hot food always taste so much better!

I have that same sticky noodle problem too, but I found that after microwaving the noodles for a bit before I eat them, they aren’t that sticky anymore. Pity though that you don’t have a microwave at work
