My journey into bento lunch boxes
In: General
14 Dec 2008When I first started making bento lunches, I used to read other bento blogs for inspiration, and I would always be terribly impressed by the cute food picks or sauce bottles or the silicone cups I’d see used as food separators. I did find people selling them online but I found the prices too high.
However, I am happy to report that bento fans now have a great place to go to for bento equipment – Daiso! Yes, you can get lots of Bento equipment at Daiso, now open at The Curve, Mutiara Damansara. Here are a couple of picture of what is available at Daiso:-
Food Picks and Forks

Paper and silicone food cups

I visited on their opening day and immediately picked up a pack of cute animal food picks, 2 silicone food cups, a pack of 20 sauce bottles and a pair of shakers for food flavouring or chilli flakes. All for a mere RM20 since everything in the store is just RM5 each! I’ll picture them soon.
I saw bento boxes, onigiri shapers, rice ball shapers and any number of containers. So, if you are new to making bento lunches, pick up your equipment at Daiso – its inexpensive and you get the cute stuff to brighten up your lunch boxes! I can see my lunch boxes looking cheerier by the day already!
